Jay R. Mueller, Esq.
Jay Mueller is the lead attorney with Jay R. Mueller & Associates
in Albuquerque New Mexico.
He has been a practicing attorney since 2002 and founded his
law firm in May 2006.
His law practice areas include but are not limited to personal
injury plaintiff’s representation,
select civil rights matters, Native American issues, criminal defense
with emphasis on D.W.I. and drug crimes, and parole
and probation issues.
Jay earned an undergraduate degree from New Mexico Highlands University
in Spanish and a graduate degree from New Mexico Highlands University
in Public Affairs/Political and Governmental Processes.
He also earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence
and advanced Certificate in Indian Law from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2001.
While a student, Jay served as both an enlisted member and later commissioned officer in the
United States Army Reserve and Army National Guard.
He served with HHB, 6th BN, 200th Air Defense Artillery, New Mexico Army National Guard
as well he as a first lieutenant in the Military Police Corps.
He has authored legal articles.
His research concerning Navajo traditional law was published in the
Tribal Law Journal at the University of New Mexico's School of Law.
Jay is also a political activist, having served in various capacities with the
Democratic Party of New Mexico.
Jay is an ordained priest at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, a progressive Anglican/Catholic
faith community within the Evangelical Anglican Church in America
